The local signal off the national system has been getting weaker in Gisborne for some time. Roger on a work trip to the site found that while the local transmitter was drawing over 5 amps it was putting out less than a watt and getting very hot. On a previous trip he had checked the aerial and found it OK. Therefore the transmitter has been removed for service and amateurs will not be able to use the national system in Gisborne on 439.875MHz. |
