Repeater is operated by a noise squelch on the second sound input channel. A signal or noise reduction for about 40 seconds is required before the repeater will come on the air. Once the signal is no longer received the repeater will stay on the air for about 17 minutes before turning off. While the repeater is on the air with no input signal it will radiate the identification /test pattern
The received signal in Gisborne which is the main lobe of the aerial, is only about 9db down on the the Channel 38 signal from the same site which appears to allow most TV sets to provide a clear picture.
- Note that all equipment is on loan so many thanks must go to all those who have helped and who continue to help to keep the repeater in existance.
