Some pictures of the 690 repeater, the Amateur Radio National System and the digi repeater installations taken on the 30th of March as the national system was made operational and a new battery system installed. The thin wooden pole with the two dipoles is used for the digi repeater and the 690 FM repeater. The metal pole next to the hut has the corner reflector for linking to Napier and the top of the pole is the aerial for the local repeater for the Amateur Radio National system.
The batteries are installed in a wooden box inside a larger metal box and feed the installation and are charged via two separately fused 2.5mm cables which should allow up to 60Amps from the four 100AH 6v batteries
