The ATV repeater receives a 23cm FM television signal and retransmits the same video and two channel sound (picture only at present, sound coming) on UHF TV channel 39, a standard television signal which can be received by any reasonable UHF television reception system in the Gisborne city area.

  • Below are pictures of the square box used for receiving, dipoles inside the actual repeater and the panel aerial used for transmit. Also some views from the site showing coverage. Makorori and Wainui are on the back of the transmit panel so are effectively received around a metal square in that direction. Therefore the signal in that direction is much weaker than that towards Gisborne However a good aerial should provide good pictures at Wainui.
